Cumming Interior House Painting
For this house, we found multiple issues that show up. On the first day of work, I and another worker went to the house, and we cover all the surfaces and anything else that was not going to be painted, just as the granite cabinets. On the first day, we also manage to patch up the holes on the walls, and any walls imperfection on the upper floor. We decide to do this because there was a ceiling imperfection that we try to fix. The plan was to patch up the ceiling and let the sheetrock mud dry for at least one day before painting. The problem with the ceiling was that the ceiling tape was coming off, we needed to remove the tape and put new tape on, but there was not enough time for us to finish the work on the first day of work.
On the second day, that main priority was to get the ceiling tape put on, the sooner we finish putting up the tape the more time the mud will have to dry. Two workers took a total of about 2 hours to finish, as those two work on repairing the ceiling one of the crew-member begin to spray the ceilings and worked around the ceiling where the mud was still drying. One of the crew member work on preparing the walls, that worker is responsible for sanding all the sheetrock patches, sanding all the walls, removing all the light switch covers, and more. Preparing the walls is an important step that some painters skip, the wall needs to be sanded if we don’t the wall paint can peel off within days or the wall can have too much texture after we finish. Once the crew member is done preparing the walls, we painted the cabinets, and the last step for the day was to spray the trim. When we paint the cabinets we cover anything that was is not going to get painted, we cover the countertop with paper and use tape to cover the door hinges. Painting the cabinets is a very delicate process, that only an expert can do if we put too much paint the paint will drip and if we put too little paint the paint is not going to cover the cabinet. For this house, all the windows were made of vinyl, they have window frames made of wood, and all the doors were made of wood. What we ended up doing was that we cover doorknobs and door hinges with tape, and we spray the doors. After painting the doors, and window frames we call it a day.
On the following day, we started by giving the first coat to the walls. For this house, there were only two colors for the house, one crew member give the first coat to the first color, while the other crew-member paints the second color. When we paint, we first use the roller to paint the walls, then wait for the paint to dry before cutting the edges of the walls with the brush. We always wait for the paint to dry before applying another coat of paint to the wall. In total, we give the walls two coats of paint. After giving the second coat, we work on any imperfection that we walls, might still have, for example, we might have missed to patch up a small hole on the first try, this is the time when we take care of that. The last step was to clean the whole house, paint the baseboard, and do a final walkthrough with the client.
